The vast majority of MP3 players are either ultraslim or touchscreen, but Aigo is offering a unique puzzle-shaped device to the masses. Unfortunately, technical specifications have not yet been released.

It looks like anyone that wished their digital audio player looked more like a nondescript USB drive is now in luck, as Green House has just introduced its new Kana Micro player, which is far more likely to get lost than stolen. True to its barebones nature, it seems you’ll also have to supply your own microSD card for storage with this one (up to 2GB is support), and you can apparently expect to get a whopping two hours of battery life before it needs to be recharged via the built-in USB connector. No word on a release ’round here just yet, as you might have guessed, but those in Japan can pick one up right now in their choice of seven different colors for a mere ¥1,480, or about $16.

Just how much different do you think digital audio players will look like in the future? After all, we’ve seen some pretty zany designs in the past, and here is one that could fit in into today’s market - the Music Drop Player concept. Aptly named after its tear drop design, you will be able to wrap your hand around this without feeling uncomfortable, and it comes with a projector that shows off various song information including artist name, song title and song length. Apparently the projector is bright enough to show up on virtually any surface including walls, tables or even your own hand. We’re not too big on a built-in projector in an MP3 player especially when all it does is show off metadata concerning a song - that’s just a plain waste of battery life. Aren’t we supposed to be going green these days? A portable media player/cell phone with a projector we can understand, but this? Best be left as a concept.

It’s no secret that the Samsung Yepp YP-P3 PMP is on the way — Sammy’s shown it off, it’s kicking around the FCC and we’ve already seen it unboxed — but it looks like it’s getting an official launch in Korea just ahead of CES. Specs are the same as we’ve known forever: the same 3-inch, 480 x 272 touchscreen as the P2, but with added haptic feedback and a new Flash-based UI with customizable widgets, Bluetooth with A2DP, the usual codec support, and a 30-hour audio playback battery life. No US prices yet, but the Koreans out there should look to have scrounged together 239,000 won ($177) for the 4GB, 279,000 won ($207) for 8GB, and 329,000 won ($244) for the 16GB model by the time these ship in early January. Interface vid after the break.

Sleek and stylish, the Digit MP3 player concept includes a wireless stereo headset as well as 20GB of built-in memory. Best of all, it’s slim enough to slide easily into any pocket.
