I am not a huge fan of what I call the “pink” technology, since women deserve to like more than one color and appreciate high end specs too. This new Motorola basic phone fits the stereotype: pink and regular specs. However, the design is subtle and elegant; in addition, the pink color is discreet and it has 3.5G. The Motorola PEBL Rose Bloom will be available in Korea from SK telecom for an undisclosed price. It features a touch sensitive external panel, a 2 MP camera, a 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth and HSDPA.

Going green is sexy. And Motorola want to be more sexy with its new and carbonfree phone, the Renew W233. The phone features a 100% recyclable housing made from recycled water bottles. This entry-level phone packed with a prepaid envelope so users can sent back the phone whenever reaching the end of its life cycle for recycling. Its manual is also printed on recycled paper, I like it.

Like the Curve 8900, it turns out that Motorola’s SURF is a device that kinda needs to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated. In light of TouchFLO and its endless competitors, the skin Moto’s developed for this thing — while tasteful and seemingly finger-friendly — really isn’t anything to get terribly excited about, but it does an adequate job of making the superficial surface of Windows Mobile reasonably finger-friendly. The screen feels great, and yeah, the SURF includes a stylus — but hey, what WinMo phone doesn’t? Ultimately, we think it’s going to be a totally serviceable alternative to, say, a Touch Diamond — only problem is that the Touch Diamond is like 8 months old. If Moto had launched this running Android instead of WinMo, on the other hand, it would’ve been the runaway hit of the show. Follow the break for a super-quick video tour of the UI!

If these fine specimens look familiar, well, they should — one’s already been announced (albeit on a different carrier) and the other two have been thoroughly scooped. Motorola’s CES haul includes the eco-tastic Renew W233, a simple candybar destined for T-Mobile that features a neutral carbon footprint and components made of recycled water bottles; the Tundra VA76r, a rugged 3G flip with push-to-talk that previously launched on Rogers and has its sights set on AT&T this time around for a January 13 release; and the headliner of the bunch, the SURF A3100. The WinMo 6.1-based SURF — alias A3000, alias Atila — features a full 2.8-inches of touchscreen adorned with a custom skin designed by Moto, 7.2Mbps triband HSDPA, a 3-megapixel autofocus cam, AGPS, and support for microSD cards up to a purely theoretical 32GB in size. Though the radio is fully equipped for North American action, no stateside launch is in the cards just yet; for now, you’ll find the SURF in Asian markets before the quarter’s out.
